This self-paced HazWoper education course on the Internet provides the necessary environmental health and safety training required for a Certificate of Completion that will permit the student to continue working at any site requiring HAZWOPER training. This course provides the equivalent of eight hours of refresher training. Students have 6 months to complete their registration from the date of enrollment. We partner with Kirkwood for this course, so you will be sent your login information.
The HazWoper 8-Hour Refresher is a WebCT-based, self-paced, open-entry, open-exit, 8-hour waste site worker course meeting the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120, OSHA's Hazardous Waste Site Worker and Emergency Response Standard. The course consists of online text, exercises, self-grading quizzes and final exam (MUST be proctored; is NOT open book). The course is offered through selected member colleges of the Community College Consortium for Health and Safety Training (CCCHST) and is authored and sponsored by the Hazardous Materials Training and Research Institute (HMTRI).

This course is for professionals who have completed the Health and Safety Training for Hazardous Materials Activities: Forty-Hour OSHA course. OSHA requires that this eight-hour refresher course be taken yearly to maintain certification.
