Summary

This certificate training program focuses on topics related to collaborative practice agreements between pharmacists and physicians. This program will expand upon content included in the Initial Collaborative Practice Agreement Certification program. Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Billing structures
  • Pharmacy quality improvement
  • Motivational interviewing
  • Legal and regulatory requirements associated with entering into a collaborative practice agreement
  • Patient assessment and treatments for chronic diseases outlined in Florida law

This recertification training program is approved by the Florida Board of Pharmacy to meet the 8.0 hour Collaborative Practice Agreement Certification renewal requirements.

Intended Audience: Pharmacists wishing to maintain their collaborative practice agreement certification.

Time to Complete: All coursework must be completed within 24 weeks from the date of registration or before date of UAN expiration, 07/11/2025, whichever comes first. This course will no longer be eligible for CE credit after 07/11/2025.


Objectives

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Summarize the patient assessment process, drug therapy management, and associated pharmacotherapy guideline updates for the chronic disease states covered in the Collaborative Practice Agreement legislation.
  • Identify resources available to pharmacists to develop evidence-based treatment plans and improve quality metrics for the chronic disease states covered in the Collaborative Practice Agreement legislation.
  • Discuss common billing and documentation strategies for pharmacists who are working to effectively establish Collaborative Practice Agreement clinical services.
  • Employ motivational interviewing and other patient communication techniques in order to help patients achieve their health-related goals.
    Describe the impact of pharmacy quality performance measurements on advancing Collaborative Practice Agreement clinical services.

Requirements for Successful Course Completion

In order to earn credit for this course, participants must complete all course case study quizzes and pass a final assessment with a score of 70% or higher. Two chances to pass each quiz/assessment will be given. If a passing score is not earned by the second attempt, the participant must re-enroll in the course. Upon successful completion of all coursework, participants must complete a course evaluation form.
