Course Description

The Biotechnician Assistant Credentialing Exam (BACE) is an industry-recognized exam designed to assess core skills and knowledge sets defined by the bioscience industry. The BACE Exam is offered through Biotility at the University of Florida’s Center of Excellence for Regenerative Health Biotechnology (UF CERHB).

Program Details

General: Candidates should review the Candidate Information Bulletin (CIB) before enrolling for this course. The CIB contains crucial information about the enrollment process, remote testing requirements, exam categories, and examination policies that may impact your decision to enroll. 

Fees:

  • First Attempt: $200
  • Second Attempt: Free 
  • Third Attempt: $50

Exam Format: The BACE consists of two portions. The BACE Knowledge and Practical portions are administered as one assessment delivered in a laboratory classroom and proctored by Biotility staff .

Time to Complete: Candidates have a total of 4 hours in which to complete the exam. 


Requirements for Successful Course Completion

To pass the BACE and earn your Biotechnician Assistant Credential, you must achieve an overall score of 80%. The score is determined by averaging the highest grade on the Knowledge Portion and the highest grade on the Practical Portion. Candidates may see their score results through UF e-Learning. There is a mandatory 20-day waiting period between attempts. Candidates are allowed a maximum of three attempts per academic year.
