This five-day NIOSH 582E course, designed in line with AIHA guidelines, equips professionals with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills to accurately analyze asbestos air samples on-site. Participants will gain expertise in asbestos types, air sampling strategies, pump calibration, microscopy techniques, and the NIOSH 7400 Method—ensuring they meet certification requirements for safe and effective asbestos air sampling in occupational and environmental health settings.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of the NIOSH 582E course, learners will be able to identify asbestos types and their health effects, develop effective air sampling strategies, perform sampling pump calibration and air volume calculations, operate and maintain a phase contrast microscope, apply the NIOSH 7400 Method for asbestos analysis, prepare slides accurately, and demonstrate proficiency in the preparation and analysis of asbestos air samples on-site.

After successfully completing the required exam, attendee will receive a Certificate of Accreditation.
