Course Description

The Biotechnician Assistant Credentialing Exam (BACE) is an industry-recognized exam designed to assess core skills and knowledge sets defined by the bioscience industry. The BACE Practice Exam Course is a free UF e-Learning course developed to help BACE candidates prepare for both the Knowledge and Practical portions of the exam. BACE is offered through Biotility at the University of Florida’s Center of Excellence for Regenerative Health Biotechnology (CERHB).

Program Details

General: The BACE Practice Exam Course provides candidates with a detailed review of the exam experience and includes confidence activities, multiple practice exams, and additional study resources. The second portion of the course provides career development activities and resources, which may help candidates enter the industrial biotechnology workforce. Candidates should review the Candidate Information Bulletin (CIB) before enrolling for this course. The CIB contains crucial information about the enrollment process, remote testing requirements, exam categories, and examination policies that may impact your decision to enroll.

Course Format: The Practice Exam course consists of a series of modules which contain: General BACE Information, Practice Exams (Versions A and B, broken out by topic category), Additional Mathematics Practice, Additional Study Resources, and Stepping into the Biotech Workforce.


Requirements for Successful Course Completion

To pass the BACE and earn your Biotechnician Assistant Credential, you must achieve an overall score of 80%. The score is determined by averaging the highest grade on the Knowledge Portion and the highest grade on the Practical Portion. Candidates may see their score results through UF e-Learning.

Click the blue “Log in to Continuing Education” button and enter your login credentials (be sure to use the same third-party credentials you entered during enrollment). You should then see your course on the UF e-Learning dashboard or by clicking Courses>All Courses. 

Please note, it is common practice to enroll in multiple courses or sections in order to access all online content relevant to your program. However, you will only create one UF account once (during your first enrollment).
