This one-day course is designed to give water and distribution operators a basic understanding of the operation and maintenance of fire hydrants and their corresponding valves. Operators will learn what is required to keep hydrants operational using preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting.

  • Identify valves and valve applications
  • Describe common preventive maintenance requirements
  • Learn basic troubleshooting practices on fire hydrants
  • Associate tools and repair techniques
