- This two day 16-hour on-site course meets OSHA compliance training under OSHA Construction Industry Standard 29 CFR 1926.1101 for Class III Workers.
- The course includes the OSHA Construction Industry Standard 29 CFR 1926.1101 as it relates to maintenance workers (Class III employees), Operations & Maintenance work practices, Asbestos Removal: A Guide for the Worker, Health Effects, Engineering Controls and Florida DEP Asbestos NESHAPS/EPA Asbestos NESHAPS.
- A hands-on demonstration and operations activity are included that focus on the specifics for your organization
- Daily breaks are scheduled. You will be allowed a one hour break for lunch.
- Participant must be present for entire course time to receive CEUs and a Certificate of Attendance.
- An annual refresher course is required by OSHA.
Learner Outcomes
This course is for maintenance and custodial workers (Class III employees) who conduct activities that involve the disturbance of asbestos-containing material (ACM), or potential asbestos-containing material (PACM). Among those who may benefit from this training are plumbers, electricians, or anyone who does maintenance work.
Asbestos Competent Person: Asbestos Class II workers must be supervised by an Asbestos Competent Person. An Asbestos Competent Person takes the initial Asbestos: Contractor/Supervisor (5 day) initial course; as well as annual refreshers. This person must be on-site; must inspect often; must attend supervisory training.
