- This 8-hour course provides you with a regulatory review and update on asbestos legislation pertinent to asbestos contractors and supervisors
- Topics covered include OSHA, EPA-NESHAPS, work practices, safety, health concerns, legal issues and liability. In addition, upon successful completion of the course, the student should be able to list the specific knowledge and skill levels needed to comply with OSHA competent person under 1926.1101.
- This course has been approved by the EPA and the State of Florida for persons wishing to receive Reaccreditation. To be reaccredited, you must provide proof of having successfully completed the initial EPA-approved training course and any annual refresher courses in the discipline in which you seek reaccreditation. If your initial and refresher course certificates were not issued by UF TREEO, you must email a copy of your initial and last refresher certificates to our registrar, Kady Morris kadymorris@treeo.ufl.edu , and be verified before the class begins.
- Daily breaks are scheduled. You will be allowed a one hour break for lunch.
- Participant must be present for entire course time to receive CEUs and a Certificate of Reaccreditation
- Required Exam: 25 Question Multiple-Choice/Closed Book with a 70% or higher to pass
- An annual refresher course is required for re-accreditation
Learner Outcomes
This course is for persons who are seeking reaccreditation as Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor. In Florida, Asbestos Contractor Supervisors must work under the direction of a Florida Licensed Asbestos Contractor (LAC).
Persons who plan to do asbestos work in other states should contact that state to verify that accreditation, licensure and other requirements are met.
