Many of today’s wastewater treatment plant discharge permits require compliance with biological nitrogen and phosphorous nutrient removal regulations imposed by local, state or federal authorities. This course is designed to give the operator or manager of an advanced wastewater treatment plant valuable information on meeting those regulations.
Learner Outcomes
At the end of this course student will be:
- Rules and regulations (including NNC)
- Biological nitrogen removal processes
- Biological phosphorus removal processes
- Chemical nutrient removal processes
- Process control testing and monitoring
- Troubleshooting the BNR processes
