The Level 1 Water Distribution System Operator Training is a three-day, intensive course that equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed to apply for and pass the Florida state examination. The curriculum covers operations and maintenance, local, state and federal regulations, and management and community relations of water distribution systems. This course blends thorough instruction with practice quizzes and a final test to reinforce learning and gauge your exam readiness.
Participants will receive a printed handout and a copy of the Water Distribution System Operation and Maintenance, 7th edition manual, published by CSU Sacramento. Upon completion of the training, the certificate of completion can be submitted with their state exam application to Florida DEP.
Learner Outcomes
- Apply operational and maintenance practices for water storage and distribution facilities
- Interpret federal, state and local rules and regulations, including permitting and environmental compliance related to water systems
- Demonstrate sound workplace safety practices and emergency response procedures related to water utilities
- Discuss the administrative and supervisory requirements of water distribution system management
- Demonstrate the ability to perform math calculations related to the operation, maintenance and management of a water distribution system
- Apply to take the State of Florida Water Distribution Operator Level 1 examination
