Are you responsible for developing and implementing training?

No matter what kind of training you do you must be well prepared and able to handle whatever happens in the training room with flexibility and professionalism.

This course is designed to help participants gain basic training competencies and enhance their skills and capabilities. Practical application exercises are used in conjunction with course materials to teach students how to design and deliver an effective environmental training program.

As part of the learning process, students have the opportunity to design and deliver a short, ten-minute presentation to the class on the final day. The presentation may be on any topic, and time will be scheduled for the attendee to prepare their presentation. Students may bring photos or other visual aids to incorporate into their presentations. Experience using PowerPoint is NOT necessary.

Learner Outcomes

At the end of this course students will be able to:

  • Detail the difference between training vs. speaking
  • Prepare a training needs assessment

"This experience was phenomenal, and I am truly glad that I was able to be a part of it. All the information which was exchanged will prove to be invaluable, whether delivered by the trainers or the trainees. I truly appreciate the patience of the UF-TREEO staff, whom provided us with patience and encouragement as we, the participants, interacted and embellished the educational curriculum with our experiences and perspectives. We were comprised of a vocal group, eager to interject and share amongst our newly found peers."
"Thank you to Ron and Laurie for creating a trusting and open environment that allowed for honesty and true learning. I really appreciate the fact that you didn’t stop at presenting/explaining the materials, but demonstrated them and encouraged the same from us. Inspiring."
