The University of Florida’s TREEO Center course for Water Distribution Systems Operator- Level Two and Three is designed for the system operator who desires to be certified by the State of Florida Operator Certification Program. The course includes the necessary material a person would need to know while working in the field of drinking water distribution. The course covers a wide variety of topics, and is taught by qualified instructors. The class is a 32 hour training session over 4 days. Each student is issued the manual “Water Distribution System Operation and Maintenance” 7th edition, published by the CSU Sacramento, as well as all the course material presented in PowerPoint format. The students are given opportunities to test their knowledge where they take practice tests based on the material presented during the class.
Learner Outcomes
At the conclusion of the course, the participant will:
- Explain the State and Federal water quality requirements for water distribution systems
- Describe how a water distribution system is designed and constructed
- Describe the operation and maintenance tasks of the water distribution system operator
- Be able to solve math problems required of the water distribution system operator
- Describe problems found in distribution systems and corrective action
- Demonstrate the ability to take mulitiple choice tests
Notes
This class is approved by the FDEP for both Level 3 and 2, so no additional course is needed to sit for the Distribution Level 2 Exam, once the Level 3 license is issued.
Students, please be aware to qualify for the state exam you will need either a high school diploma or a Florida Dept of Education approved GED. Online GED's are not accepted by FDEP.
