This one day detailed “how-to” course will help the water or wastewater operator and mechanics to understand how centrifugal and positive displacement pumps operate. In this class both the construction and operation both pumps will be discussed, along with instruction on how to keep water and wastewater pumps operating properly.

Learner Outcomes

Subjects covered include:

  • Centrifugal pump theory
  • Reading pump curves,
  • Normal pump maintenance requirements,
  • Replacement of packing,  mechanical seals, impellers, wear rings and shaft sleeves.

This class is for operators, mechanical maintenance personnel, supervisors and engineers of water and wastewater systems and regulators.
