Course Description

The first step in fighting this offense is identifying the signs and knowing what actions can be taken to help the victims. The University of Florida Office of Professional and Workforce Development in partnership with the Alachua Coalition Against Human Trafficking has developed an online Human Trafficking Prevention course. This course is designed to increase awareness of the indicators of human trafficking and offer resources for prevention.

A portion of the course registration fee will be donated to The Alachua Country Coalition Against Human Trafficking.

This general course has been approved for CEUs by the Florida Boards of Dentistry, Occupational Therapy, and Dietetics and Nutrition.

The CME course has been approved for MD and DO in the state of Florida. 

Learner Outcomes

  • Define human trafficking
  • Differentiate between the different types of human trafficking
  • Understand the root causes of Human Trafficking
  • Identify the factors which make victims vulnerable
  • Identify the signs of Human Trafficking victims
  • Report suspected Human Trafficking cases to the proper authorities
  • Consider the challenges human trafficking victims face when getting help
  • Understand the needs of human trafficking victims
  • Identify social services available to human trafficking victims
