As a supervisor, you play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of your team. However, leading by example and influencing your team's safety behaviors can be a daily challenge. This interactive course is designed to equip you with techniques to communicate expectations and accountability to your employees as well as coach for improvement and use recognition programs successfully.

 

Through a series of tabletop exercises, participants will be able to identify their own safety leadership styles and how those styles impact safety within the organization. Also, we will cover how to conduct effective safety meetings, inspections, and training.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completing this course, you will be able to:

* Understand the supervisor's role and responsibilities under the Occupational Safety and Health Act

* Recognize the role of the supervisor in the identification and control of hazards in the workplace

* Conduct safety inspections, meetings, and training sessions with confidence

* Develop effective safety leadership styles and recognize their impact on team safety

* Implement safety accountability measures, including discipline and recognition programs
