This in-person OSHA 30-Hour Construction Outreach Training is designed for workers with some safety responsibility, providing a deeper understanding of hazards that may be found on construction sites. An emphasis is placed on hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention rather than OSHA standards. Through instructor-led discussion, hands-on demonstrations, and group exercises, participants learn practical approaches to recognizing and controlling risks on the job. Participants who successfully complete all course requirements will receive an OSHA 30 student completion card.
Learner Outcomes
Upon completing this course, you will be able to:
- Identify common construction hazards and apply appropriate control measures
- Select, inspect, and properly use personal protective equipment
- Recognize health hazards including chemical, physical, and biological exposures
- Conduct basic safety inspections and hazard assessments
- Apply safety leadership principles to influence workplace safety culture
- Describe workers' rights and employer responsibilities under OSHA
- Implement effective communication strategies for safety meetings and training
- Develop skills to mentor and coach others in safe work practices
