Course Description

This full-day, hands-on refresher course is designed for dental hygienists and dentists aiming to enhance their periodontal care skills using both foundational techniques and emerging technologies. Participants will review current standards in periodontal diagnosis, including the 2017 World Workshop Staging and Grading system, and refine their instrumentation techniques for supra- and subgingival scaling and root planing.

The course includes focused instruction on hand instrumentation, sharpening techniques, and the effective use of ultrasonic scalers. Attendees will also explore innovations such as guided biofilm therapy using air polishing systems to improve access, efficiency, and patient outcomes in both periodontal and implant therapy. Through interactive demonstrations and clinical practice, participants will gain confidence in integrating these tools and techniques into everyday patient care
