Course Description
The Institutional Review Board Specialist Credentialing Exam (IRBSCE) is an industry-recognized exam designed to assess core skills and knowledge sets defined by the bioscience industry. The IRBSC Exam is offered through Biotility at the University of Florida’s Center of Excellence for Regenerative Health Biotechnology (UF CERHB).

Program Details
General: Candidates should review the Candidate Information Bulletin (CIB) before enrolling for this course. The CIB contains crucial information about the enrollment process, remote testing requirements, exam categories, and examination policies that may impact your decision to enroll.
Fees:
- Per Attempt: $215
Exam Format: The IRBSCE is administered as an online assessment delivered on the University of Florida's education platform, UF e-Learning, and remotely monitored by ProctorU. The IRBSCE consists of 75 multiple-choice, scenario-based, and matching questions. The exam is closed book, with a two-hour time limit.
Time to Complete:
- First Attempt: 180 days
- Second Attempt: 90 days
Requirements for Successful Course Completion
To pass the IRBSCE and earn your IRB Specialist Credential, you must achieve an overall score of 80%. Candidates may see their score results through UF e-Learning. There is a mandatory 20-day waiting period between attempts. Candidates are allowed a maximum of two (2) attempts per rolling 12-month period (based on first attempt date).

Click the blue “External ID” button and enter your login credentials - be sure to use the same third-party credentials you entered during enrollment. You should then see your course on the UF e-Learning dashboard or by clicking Courses>All Courses.
Please note, it is common practice to enroll in multiple courses or sections in order to access all online content relevant to your program. However, you will only create one UF account once (during your first enrollment).
