This one day course provides lift station personnel, distribution and wastewater operators with a comprehensive overview of lift station operation and upkeep. Participants will gain a working understanding of lift station types, operating principles, key components, and preventative maintenance practices essential for reliable performance. The course combines comprehensive course material and practical examples to help students build the skills needed to maintain efficient and dependable lift station operations.
Learner Outcomes
- Discuss the role of lift stations in wastewater collection systems and the consequences of lift station failure
- List and describe basic components found in a lift station and operating principles
- List the hazards and how to work safely in and around lift stations.
- Describe the basic electrical and control systems found in lift stations.
- Describe the procedure for inspecting a lift station.
- List the tasks that should be performed during routine lift station visits.
- Describe the purpose of periodic maintenance and the considerations that go into determining maintenance frequencies
