Course Description
This section of Design a Great Online Course is recommended for a faculty planning to produce a course with the Center for Online Innovation and Production (COIP). This workshop combines practical guidance with "create-your-course" worksheets to help you through the initial planning stages of creating a quality online learning experience.
When you complete this workshop, you will be able to:
- Plan your online course using "backward design."
- Identify features of quality course design using the UF+QM Standards.
- Align your course objectives, assessments, content and learning activities to create a course map.
- Experience an online course from the student's perspective.
- Estimate the time you will take to create the content for one module.
The workshop was designed to be completed in 8-9 hours and you can work through it at your own pace. While working through the modules, your facilitator will be available to answer questions and provide feedback through Zoom, email or a discussion forum.
It is recommended you complete the workshop before attending your Course Production Kickoff Meeting, as it prepares you for collaboration with your instructional designer.
