The UF Director of Racquet Sports Certificate Program curriculum was developed by a committee of leading industry professionals and an educational advisor and is intended to create an educational pathway to successful leadership for racquets professionals. The University of Florida is excited to have partnered with the United States Tennis Association (USTA), the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) and the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) to provide certified tennis professionals with this educational curriculum.

This course mirrors graduate-level content in the highly ranked University of Florida Master's of Sport Management degree program in the College of Health and Human Performance.

Graduates of this course will receive a certificate of completion. Those who are interested in obtaining the official designation of "Certified Director of Racquet Sports" must present their certificate of completion AND meet all eligibility criteria outlined by USPTA and/or PTR.

Required application materials include:

  • A statement of purpose outlining how you are a suitable candidate for the certification and how it will contribute to your career aspirations (min. 250 words)
  • Professional resume
  • A copy of a current certification certificate with PTR or USPTA.  Level 2 Certification is preferred. 
  • Legal name used for USTA Safe Play approval (current status will be confirmed during the application process).
  • One professional reference (your application will not be complete until the professional reference completes the information that is provided to them via email)

Note: Experienced tennis/racquet professionals who are not USPTA or PTR certified members, CAN still apply for the course. These applicants should include in their statement of purpose why they are interested in the course and how they will use the knowledge obtained to positively impact the racquets industry.
